Lavender Lemonade

IMG_0685You know that feeling when you wake up from your snugly winter cocoon and open the window to feel the air has shifted and a wave washes over you with the feeling of new beginnings?

SPRING. Capitalize on that feeling of the sweetest season with some lavender lemonade: an uncommon combination that is surprisingly easy and delicious ~yum~

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 cup sugar

5 cups water

1 tbsp dried/culinary lavender

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Ice cubes

Lavender sprigs for garnish (if you’re feeling fancy)

Red food coloring (optional)

HOW TO DO IT:

  1. Combine sugar with 1 cup water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar
  2. Stir in lavender and cover. Remove from heat, and let stand for 20 minutes
  3. Strain the mixture and discard the lavender. Let cool. Pour into a glass pitcher, add lemon juice and the 4 cups water. Stir. Add ingredients to taste
  4. Serve over ice, and garnish with lemon slices. If the cute pink color is desired, put a small drop of red food coloring in and stir

Enjoy!

xoxo

NOTE: Can be refrigerated up to a week
